QUWWA COFFEE SHOP
A coffee with notes of tropical fruits, honey sweetness and a crisp and bright acidity. Divisadero Café Farms is owned by Mauricio Salaverria, that has been involved in coffee all of this life, following in his parents and granparents footsteps since 1890’s; now he’s owning and managing 5 farms with primarily shade grown Bourbon. Cruz Gorda is from the micro region in Los Naranjos within the Apaneca mountain range. This bourbon pacas is also depulped and dired on raised African beds at Divisadero’s mill.
East Africa is known for its high-quality coffee – and Burundi is no exception.
Burundi’s volcanic soil and approximate 1,200 mm of rainfall a year create a great environment for growing coffee. Volcanic soil is rich in nutrients such as nitrogen, which coffee plants need, and tends to hold water well.
